If you're going blink dagger for initiation then you really need BKB because one stun makes your ult worthless and then you're immediately dead. So at that point, if your farm is an issue for your other cores then you have to ask yourself are you a support or a core? Grabbing available farm is okay as long as you're not taking camps from your cores or missing out on teamfights and pushes or otherwise doing so at the expense of your teammates.
