When you relaunch XBMC, the source should be gone from your list. Just wanted to let you know that it worked. Got the stupid source deleted. This is obviously a problem with the interface. Hopefully someone from Boxee is monitoring this thread and this gets fixed in the next release. Can someone give me a step by step of how to SSH into the sources.
I had the exact same problem. Got some hints from this thread and got me headed in the right direction. Anyway the filename that is mentioned throughout this thread is wrong, and so is the location. Here is where I found the file I needed to edit. I used ssh from a linux terminal to get access to the file. Nautilus is easier cause you get the GUI you were looking for. You can also do it from Windows. Download a program called WinSCP. It is very straight forward. If you want to delete or remove an SMB network share that you created as a file source from KODI, then you can manually edit the mediasources.
You may be able to delete the mediasources. Where is the mediasources. What is the path to the mediasources. It's certainly buried. You can find it in the following path, unless an updated KODI installer moves it elsewhere.
Open the mediasources. Then I saved the edited file as so revised. The SMB source that you originally created won't appear again in the list of video addon zip sources, etc. By the way, the sources. Using advancedsettings. Currently working, but can change. When creating a new Kodi client, simply copy the relevant files from the Kodi source machine to the new client, either via USB or a network connection.
Should your Kodi device work okay via path substitution, then a simple reboot should be enough to pick up changes in the source. As such, I have been making somewhat frequent source changes, but once I have finished, I may not be changing sources often. As I have opened every file I can find at least in the userdata directory , this must be stored inside the shared library database?
I am going to set a second LibreELEC box to use the shared library database and see if this setting migrates over. I did dig through the MariaDB database "MyVideos" and found in the "path" table there is fields labeled "strContent" and "strScraper".
Install the same scraper on all boxes you want the "This directory contains" setting to propagate to.
